Samsung Washer Error Code OE, OF

Samsung washer error codes

Samsung Washer Error Code OE, OF

Error code meaning: Overflow error

Samsung Washer Error Codes OE and OF both relate to an overflow error caused by excessive detergent usage. When too much washing powder or liquid is added, it can lead to suds and an overflow situation and it becomes apparent when the level sensor sends a signal to the washing machine indicating that there is more water than is required for the chosen program. In order to drain the water, the machine stops washing and activates the pump.

Preventing Error Codes OE and OF Due to Excessive Detergent:

  1. Use the Right Detergent Amount: Always follow the manufacturer’s guidelines regarding the amount of detergent to use for your specific washing machine and the size of your load. Using too much detergent can result in excessive suds and overflow.
  2. Select the Correct Detergent Type: Ensure that you are using the appropriate type of detergent recommended for your washing machine. Some machines require high-efficiency (HE) detergent, while others may use regular detergent.
  3. Avoid Overloading: Overloading the washing machine can cause detergent and water to splash around, leading to suds and potential overflow. Follow the recommended load capacity for your washer.
  4. Use a Detergent Measuring Cup: To avoid guesswork, use a measuring cup or dispenser designed for detergent. This helps you accurately measure and dispense the right amount of detergent for each load.
  5. Rinse Out Excess Detergent: If you suspect that too much detergent was used in a previous wash, run an additional rinse cycle without adding detergent to ensure that excess detergent residue is removed from your clothes and the washer.
  6. Regular Maintenance: Periodically clean the detergent drawer and any detergent compartments in your washing machine to prevent the buildup of detergent residue.

Samsung Washer Error Code LE, LE1

Samsung washer error codes

Samsung Washer Error Code LE, LE1

Error code meaning: Natural drain/Water leak – Low water level detected during cycle.

The LE, LE1 code (some models show the LC one) appears on the screen if there is water leakage from the tank. Along with that, the water level drops sharply. If this error occurs, the machine stops to prevent the heating element from turning on. The point is that if the heating element heats without water, it will burn.

There are many reasons for such a spontaneous leakage of water. Let’s list them:

  • The fastening of the heating element has broken.
  • The air tube has disconnected. So water flows out during the spin.
  • Bolts have damaged the water tank in the joints.
  • The detergent hose connection is wrong.
  • Incorrect connection and positioning of the drain hose.
  • Drain hose damage.
  • The drain filter is not properly closed.

How To Eliminate The LE, LE1 Error Codes

When the machine issues the LE, LE1 error, you must immediately de-energize the device. First, press the off button on the control panel of the washing machine. Next, pull it out of the socket.

Now we have to determine the error cause. You can start by checking the drain hose. To prevent water leakage, you need to fix it properly. One end of the drain hose is located inside the machine. This part is attached to the bottom, so you do not need to get to it. Direct the other end upwards and fix the hose to the hook. The manufacturer took care of this element and mounted it on the top of the machine. Put the remaining part of the tube down to the sewer pipe branch of the shell. The hose connection to the drainpipe must be well sealed and located at the height of at least 60 cm from the floor.

Checking the drain filter is easy. Open the lid by turning it counter-clockwise. And then close it again, turning it clockwise. The filter cover must fit snugly and close the drain hole.

In some cases, there is an internal failure. For example, the LE, LE1 fauld reports heater disconnecting or a crack in the tank. If this happens, you need the help of a professional. The master will select the necessary details and install them correctly.

To summarize, we should note that eliminating the LE1 error on the washing machine requires patience and some skills. Before anything to unscrew, evaluate your real capabilities. Perhaps, you should immediately turn to specialists and not exacerbate the problem.

Samsung Washer Error Code HOT

Samsung washer error codes

Samsung Washer Error Code HOT

Error code meaning: Appliance too hot

If the Samsung washing machine shows a Hot error, this only happens with units that have a drying function. This code appears when this option is activated and working. No need to immediately panic and call the wizard. The Hot error is not a DTC. This is the standard value for washing machines with a drying function.

The Hot error reports that the temperature inside the machine during the drying process has become very high – it reaches 70 degrees. In this case, you do not need to do anything, this is normal. You just need to wait for the drying mode to complete. The temperature will then decrease and the message on the display will disappear by itself.

Samsung Washer Error Code HE3

Error code meaning: Steam function does not operate normally

The Samsung Washer Error Code HE3 typically indicates a problem with the steam function, specifically a steam-related issue that prevents it from operating correctly. To address this error and its potential causes, consider the following solutions:

  1. 1. Check Water Supply for Steam Function: Ensure that the water supply for the steam function is connected and turned on. The steam feature requires water to operate, and a lack of water can trigger this error.
  2. 2. Verify Steam Hose Connections: Inspect the steam hose connections to ensure they are securely attached to the washer and the water source. Loose or disconnected hoses can cause steam-related errors.
  3. 3. Check for Clogs or Blockages: Examine the steam hose and nozzles for any clogs or blockages that may restrict the flow of steam. Clear any obstructions if found.
  4. 4. Test Steam Function Separately: Run a separate steam cycle (if available) to check if the steam function works as expected. This can help determine if the issue is related to the steam feature itself.
  5. 5. Professional Service: If the HE3 error code persists after attempting the above steps, or if you suspect a more complex issue with the steam function, it’s advisable to contact a qualified technician or Samsung customer support. They can diagnose and repair the problem accurately.

Addressing steam-related errors promptly is essential for the proper operation of your washing machine, especially if you frequently use the steam function. If you are not experienced in dealing with appliance repairs, seeking professional assistance ensures that the issue is diagnosed and resolved correctly and safely.

Samsung Washer Error Code HE2

Samsung washer error codes

Samsung Washer Error Code HE2

Error code meaning: Dryer heater not functioning

The HE2 error in Samsung washing machines occurs quite often. In fact, an error with such code or code with similar decoding is found more often than others. Why is this happening? So, the Samsung washing machine detail, which causes this error, is the main weak point of the device.

How To Fix Error

According to statistics, in 90% of cases, this error is caused by the breakdown of the heating element. But do not despair. Don’t rush to disassemble the washing machine. Try the following.

  • Disconnect the washing machine from the mains. Unplug the power cord from the outlet and wait for 2-3 minutes. Then, turn on the washer and start the program again.
  • The malfunction may be caused by a lack of water in the water supply. Perhaps you have not turned off the water.
  • Check how stable the Samsung washing machine is placed on the floor. Is it installed by level? Sometimes the floor under the washer eventually loses its stability and gets weaker. So the washing machine starts to swing and vibrate more strongly during operation, which causes the errors of the HE2 type.

When you see the error code HE2 on the Samsung washing machine display, you can assume with 100% guarantee that the circuit is not broken and the contact remains. Moreover, the temperature sensor regularly supplies information on the heater operation to the control module. The heater gets power, but for some reason, the element does not work as it should. In this case, you can contact a specialist who in a short time will understand the problem. But it requires some money. Also, you can fix the situations yourself. If you prefer repairing the equipment without any help, do the following.

  1. Disconnect the washing machine and pull it out to where is more space.
  2. Remove the remnants of water from the Samsung washing machine. To do this, pull out the powder receptacle. Also, unscrew the dustbin but don’t forget to put some absorbent rags under it.
  3. Next, you need to remove the top wall of Samsung’s washer because it can prevent you to remove the control panel.
  4. Find two screws near the niche of the powder collector and twist them.
  5. Remove another screw located on the right side of the control panel.
  6. Remove the clamp, which holds a large rubber hatch (cuff) in Samsung washing machines. It is not necessary to remove the cuff, get it deeper inside the device.
  7. Dismantle the lower narrow front panel of the Samsung washing machine and remove it to the side. Below it, you can see screws that hold the front panel from below. Twist them.
  8. Pull off the control panel and put it on the top of the washer’s body. Be careful, a large bundle of wires will stretch out behind the panel, so do not tear off it.
  9. Under the panel, find two screws that hold the front wall of the Samsung washing machine from above. Twist them.
  10. Pull the front wall of the washing machine. Please be careful and do not pull it sharply toward yourself. The wire from the interlock device installed near the hatch will stretch out from behind the wall. Do not unplug the wire. You need to disconnect it carefully.

If you manage to remove the front wall of the Samsung washing machine, you will get access to the heating element. This part sticks out from the tank wall right under the hatch. Remove wires from it, having preliminary photographed their location. Unscrew the fixing nut and pull out the problematic part from the tank.

The heating element with a ceramic coating, widely advertised by Samsung company, are supposed not to accumulate scum. In fact, to the contrary, such parts attract more scum than ordinary metal heating elements. As a result, even its cleaning doesn’t help because the item is hopelessly spoiled.

What you need to do if you find a similar problem in your washing machine.

  • Order the needed heater without ceramic coating.
  • Put your hand through the hole for the heating element into the washing machine tank. Clean out all the dirt from there.
  • Use fine-grained sandpaper to clean the place under a new heating element. Then, grease the walls of the heating element niche with household soap.
  • Install a new heating element and connect the wires to it. So, assemble the washing machine in the reverse order described above.

To summarize, we want to note that many masters of repairing washing machines were shocked when they first faced new heating elements, released by Samsung company. Actually, such a “technological miracle” with a ceramic coating most often causes the HE2 error. So, be careful. If you have to replace the heater, never put a ceramic one because the metal is much better.

Samsung Washer Error Code H1, HE

Error code meaning: Water temperature issue

These errors, all related to temperature issues in your washing machine, can sometimes be traced back to the sensors detecting excessively high temperatures. While you might consider tackling this problem by checking the sensors yourself, it’s important to exercise caution. These issues can be quite complex, and DIY solutions may not always be advisable.

In Samsung washing machines, a unique design feature places the heating element in the front of the tank rather than the rear. This design requires you to remove the front wall, along with the control panel, to access the heating element. Once you’ve done this, you’ll need to investigate the root cause of the error.

  1. Heating Element or Heat Sensor: It’s possible that the heating element or the heat sensor has burnt out, leading to temperature irregularities. In such cases, replacing the faulty component may resolve the issue. However, it’s crucial to have the proper skills and tools for this task.
  2. Cable or Supply Wire Short Circuit: Check for any signs of a short circuit in the cable or one of the supply wires. A short circuit can disrupt the heating process and trigger these errors. If you’re confident in your electrical troubleshooting abilities, you can attempt to identify and repair the issue safely.
  3. Overheat Protection: In some instances, the sensors and heat sensor may be functioning correctly, but the washing machine’s overheat protection system has been triggered. This can occur due to various reasons, including issues with the heating element itself or a blockage in the water flow. Investigate the appliance thoroughly to identify and address the root cause.

Then, the FE error code appears on a screen. It happens only in the Samsung washing machine models, equipped with the option of drying.

How to fix the FE Error?

The FE error may be caused by several reasons and depending on the right deter-mination some of the parts have to be fixed or replaced.

  1. The capacitor connector moves from its place when the top cover is installed.
  2. The electrical circuit of the fan is damaged, so the fan does not start.
  3. The impeller’s blades are blocked or the bearings are not lubricated enough. If this malfunction occurs, the fan does not start.
  4. The failure of the starting condenser. In this case, the malfunction cannot be de-tected with the tester. The starter condenser must be replaced.

Though there are some steps you can do on your own, which will help you to whether get rid of the error or to exclude one of the possible reasons.

The error code may appear on the display due to a self-diagnostic failure of the machine. So to make sure the FE combination was not provoked by a system glitch, switch your appliance off and unplug it from the power, letting it rest for 10-15 minutes. Then switch it back on and check whether the code is still displayed.

When rebooting the appliance does not help, it means that the FE error indicates a serious fault, and you have to contact the service center, as you may need to repair or replace the fan, or it’s the impeller, fix the wire-connections and the connector itself. In the worst case, the Error is caused by the failure of the control unit and only a professional diagnostic can say whether it can be repaired or has to be replaced
