LG Dryer Error Code: d75, d80, d90, and d95
What Do the D80, D90, and D95 Error Codes Mean?
If your control panel is displaying D80, D90, or D95 error codes, this means that the airflow through your ventilation system has been obstructed by a buildup of lint. The higher the number after the “D,” the more obstructed it is. When these error codes appear, your dryer will turn off to avoid overheating.
Dealing with these error codes properly is very important, as one of the most common causes of house fires in the U.S. is overheating dryers.
How to Fix LG Dryer Error Code D80
When your LG dryer is displaying the D80 error code, this means that you have a ventilation blockage of 80%. This indicates that your air exhaust is not able to push enough air out from your dryer. The main cause of this problem is a buildup of lint in the exhaust hose or another part of the ventilation system.
Here’s how to resolve the D80 error code:
- Clean out the lint filter – make sure you remove all of the lint before putting it back into place.
- Disconnect the exhaust hose (it’s at the back of the dryer). Once disconnected, check to see if it is blocked up, and if so, remove the loose debris/lint from it.
- Check the wall duct for blockages, and if you find any, remove them.
- Check the outside vent for any blockages, and if you find any, remove them.
- At this point, you should have found the blockage and removed it, and the error code will then disappear. If need be, you can turn your dryer off and on to remove the error code.
How to Fix LG Dryer Error Code D90
If your LG dryer is displaying the D90 error code, it means that your ventilation system is restricted by 90%. When this happens, your dryer’s airflow will not be strong enough to circulate the hot air out of your dryer and through your vent.
To remove the error code and get your dryer working again, you need to:
- Start by cleaning out the lint filter – make sure you remove all the lint before putting it back into place.
How to Fix LG Dryer Error Code D95
When the display panel on your LG dryer displays the D95 error code, it means that your ventilation system is restricted by 95%. When this happens, your dryer’s airflow will not be strong enough to circulate the hot air out of your dryer and through your vent.
To remove the error code and get your dryer working again, you need to:
- Clean out the lint filter.
- Once the lint filter is cleaned, disconnect the exhaust hose (it’s at the back of the dryer), and check to see it is blocked up. If you find a blockage, remove the loose debris from the hose. Using a vacuum cleaner is a great way to quickly remove any debris.
- Once you’ve checked the hose, inspect the wall duct for blockages, and if you find any, remove them.
- If you still haven’t found the blockage, check the outside vent for any blockages, and if you find any, remove them.
- Hopefully, at this point, you’ve found the blockage and removed it. The error code should disappear. If not, turn the dryer off and on, and this should hopefully remove the error code.
