GE Washer Error Code: E47
When your GE washer displays E47 on its digital display, it’s trying to tell you that there’s a problem with the drive motor. More specifically, it often points to loose wiring connections or a malfunctioning drive motor. This issue can lead to an overheat in the inverter control board, causing the machine to hit pause.
- Unplug and Reconnect: The first thing you should do is unplug the washer from the power source. Safety always comes first. Once it’s safe, inspect the wiring connections to the drive motor. If any of these connections are loose or disconnected, reattach them securely.
- Replace the Drive Motor: If the wiring connections appear to be in good shape, the next step is to consider the drive motor. A malfunctioning drive motor can indeed cause the inverter control board to overheat, which in turn triggers the E47 error. Replacing the drive motor is often the solution in this case.
- Inverter Control Board Replacement: In the rare event that the problem persists even after replacing the drive motor, it may be time to address the inverter control board. A defective inverter control board can cause various issues in your washer, and the E47 error is one of them.
