Restarting a refrigerator can happen fairly quickly but you do need to be concerned about the items that are inside the fridge. If the refrigerator has not been working for more than four hours, it is unlikely that the refrigerated items are going to be good any longer.
As the old saying goes, it’s better safe than sorry so throw out any items that may have spoiled.
Reasons Why Bosch Refrigerator Is Not Turning On
Although a problem with the power supply is the most common reason why a Bosch refrigerator has no power, it is by no means the only reason. Here are a few other things to check to make sure that your refrigerator is back up and running as quickly as possible.
1. Demo Mode
One problem that is often overlooked is the possibility that your refrigerator is in demo mode. This is a mode that allows the refrigerator to be functioning at the store but it does not engage the compressor, so it will not run and cool. The light may work, but that will be the only feature.
If you think that your Bosch refrigerator may be in demo mode, it’s a relatively easy thing to take it out and put it into regular operating mode. This will allow your refrigerator to begin working and often correct the problem that is keeping it from operating in that way.
Turn your refrigerator off by either unplugging it from the wall or flipping off the circuit breaker. You will leave the power off to the refrigerator for a minimum of five minutes. This will give the refrigerator an opportunity to reset.
When you turn the refrigerator back on, you should be holding in the ‘alarm off’ button. You have about five seconds after reestablishing power to push the button or you will have to start the process over again.
Continue to hold the ‘alarm off’ button for a minimum of 15 seconds. The refrigerator will eventually beep three times, which lets you know that it is rebooting. After reboots, demo mode should be turned off and the compressor should be running.
2. Compressor
Another reason why your Bosch refrigerator does not have power is that the compressor is not operating properly. The compressor may not necessarily be an electrical component but it is a very important part of your Bosch refrigerator.
The compressor is responsible for pushing the coolant through the refrigerator and keeping everything cold. If the compressor is not working properly, then it is not going to be pushing the coolant and the refrigerator is not going to turn on.
You may have some power to the refrigerator if the compressor is the problem. The control panel may light up and the light may turn on when you open the refrigerator door. The real problem is the fact that your refrigerator will not be cool.

3. Main Control Board
Another reason why your Bosch refrigerator does not have power is that the compressor is not operating properly. The compressor may not necessarily be an electrical component but it is a very important part of your Bosch refrigerator.
The compressor is responsible for pushing the coolant through the refrigerator and keeping everything cold. If the compressor is not working properly, then it is not going to be pushing the coolant and the refrigerator is not going to turn on.
You may have some power to the refrigerator if the compressor is the problem. The control panel may light up and the light may turn on when you open the refrigerator door. The real problem is the fact that your refrigerator will not be cool.
One other thing to check is the main control board. If the electrical power is established to the refrigerator but you are still not getting any power to it, then the control board may be the problem.
It’s difficult to check the control board because it is not easy to test. There are a few things to look out for, however, that will let you know if the control board may be the culprit.
1. No Lights or Sounds – If you press the buttons on the control panel and there are no lights or sounds, then it might be a problem with the main control board. If a few of the buttons are working but not all of them are working, it could be either the main control board or the panel board.
2. Damage – Although you can’t easily test the control board with a multimeter, you can remove the control board and inspect it visually. If you notice any signs of cracking or burning, then it is likely something that needs to be replaced.
Why Bosch Refrigerator Has No Power
If you are having difficulty with your Bosch refrigerator and there is no power, then it is likely a problem with the power supply. We discussed this in detail, but there are a few considerations that can pinpoint the problem more directly.
First of all, if any of the components in the refrigerator are working, it is not likely to be a problem with the power supply. For example, if you open the refrigerator door and the light comes on or if you press a button on the control panel and it makes a beep, then it is not a problem with the power supply.
The only reason why it would be a problem with the power supply is if you are not getting enough power to the refrigerator to operate the compressor. Some of the minor items in the refrigerator may be operating but if the compressor is not operating, the refrigerator and freezer are not going to be cold.
There may be other factors that keep the Bosch refrigerator from having power. This could be a tripped circuit breaker, a blown fuse (if you have a fuse panel), too many appliances on the circuit, a bad receptacle, or a damaged power cord.
