Bertazzoni Oven/Range Major Issues

Bertazzoni oven/range control knob is loose on its shaft

This issue can be caused by one of two things:

  • The knob retaining spring clip has come out. This is the most common cause of this issue. The spring clip is a small, thin piece of metal that holds the knob in place on the shaft. If it comes out, the knob will become loose and may even fall off.
  • The shaft is damaged. This is less common, but it can happen if the shaft is bent or cracked. If the shaft is damaged, it will need to be replaced.

Troubleshooting

If you suspect that the knob retaining spring clip has come out, you can try to reinsert it yourself. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Turn off the oven or range and unplug it from the power outlet.
  2. Remove the knob.
  3. Locate the knob retaining spring clip. It is usually a small, thin piece of metal that is located near the base of the knob.
  4. Use a small screwdriver or needle-nose pliers to carefully reinsert the spring clip into the slot in the shaft.
  5. Reassemble the knob and plug the oven or range back in.

If the knob is still loose after you have reinserted the spring clip, or if you suspect that the shaft is damaged, you should contact a qualified technician for assistance.

Additional Information

  • To prevent this issue from happening in the future, be careful not to overtighten the knob.
  • If you have children, it is a good idea to remove the knobs from the oven or range when it is not in use. This will help to prevent them from being injured if they pull on the knobs.
