Bertazzoni Dishwasher Major Issues

Bertazzoni Dishwasher Does Not Drain Properly

One of the most common problems with Bertazzoni dishwashers is that they do not drain properly. This can be a frustrating problem, as it can lead to dirty dishes and a buildup of water in the dishwasher.

There are a few things that can cause a Bertazzoni dishwasher to not drain properly. One possibility is that the drain hose is clogged. This can happen if food particles or other debris get caught in the hose.

To check for a clogged drain hose, you can follow these steps:

  1. Turn off the water supply to the dishwasher.
  2. Unplug the dishwasher.
  3. Locate the drain hose. It is usually located in the back of the dishwasher.
  4. Inspect the drain hose for any blockages. If you find any blockages, you can try to clear them with a wire hanger.

If the drain hose is not clogged, another possibility is that it is kinked. This can prevent the water from flowing properly through the hose.

To check for a kinked drain hose, you can follow these steps:

  1. Turn off the water supply to the dishwasher.
  2. Unplug the dishwasher.
  3. Locate the drain hose. It is usually located in the back of the dishwasher.
  4. Gently feel the drain hose for any kinks. If you find any kinks, you can try to straighten them out.

If the drain hose is not clogged or kinked, another possibility is that the air gap is clogged. The air gap is a device that prevents sewer gases from backing up into the dishwasher.

To check for a clogged air gap, you can follow these steps:

  1. Turn off the water supply to the dishwasher.
  2. Unplug the dishwasher.
  3. Locate the air gap. It is usually located under the sink.
  4. Inspect the air gap for any blockages. If you find any blockages, you can try to clear them with a wire hanger.

If the air gap is not clogged, another possibility is that the garbage disposal is full. If the dishwasher is connected to the garbage disposal, the garbage disposal must be empty before the dishwasher can drain properly.

To check if the garbage disposal is full, you can follow these steps:

  1. Turn on the garbage disposal.
  2. If the garbage disposal turns on, then it is not full.
  3. If the garbage disposal does not turn on, then it is full.

If the garbage disposal is full, you can empty it by following these steps:

  1. Turn off the garbage disposal.
  2. Locate the garbage disposal access panel. It is usually located under the sink.
  3. Open the garbage disposal access panel.
  4. Remove the food debris from the garbage disposal.
  5. Close the garbage disposal access panel.

If the drain hose, air gap, garbage disposal, and drain hose are all clear, then the problem may be with the drain pump. The drain pump is responsible for pumping water out of the dishwasher. If the drain pump is faulty, it may not be able to pump water out of the dishwasher properly.

To check if the drain pump is faulty, you can follow these steps:

  1. Turn off the water supply to the dishwasher.
  2. Unplug the dishwasher.
  3. Locate the drain pump. It is usually located in the bottom of the dishwasher.
  4. Check the drain pump for any damage. If you find any damage, then the drain pump may need to be replaced.

If you have checked all of these things and the dishwasher still does not drain properly, then you may need to contact a qualified technician for further assistance.
